MEDICAL HYPNOSIS CLASS

A. Objective: This course explores the spectrum of human healing and pain control using the body/mind connection. It describes the techniques for accessing and using this modality and the variety of uses of hypnosis within a healthcare community. It also provides the practitioner of the healing arts with comprehensive techniques and methods for use within his scope of practice.

E. Description: Students are given an brief overview of the effect of one’s belief system and its influence over the body’s healing process. How mental stress and negative emotions affects one’s health and immune system is explained along with how fear, and ignorance affect medical treatment. Scripts are given for techniques to facilitate a positive effect in the areas of stress, positive emotional stability, and relaxation to support various medical treatments.

F. Teaching Methods: The class instruction will include theory, lecture, class discussion, video presentations, practice sessions video tapped and critiqued by students and instructors, student demonstration, and small group activities.

G. Testing: Students will be asked to demonstrate all of the techniques learned at appropriate times during the day. Students will also be required to take and pass a written examination at the completion of the course.
